LAHORE: The day temperatures are likely to increase due to high pressure in the upper atmosphere in most parts of the country, particularly in southern half of the country, said Met Office on Tuesday.

It has advised the farmers to manage the watering of crops and wheat harvesting accordingly. Similarly, the general public is advised to avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight.

It added that windstorm/hailstorm and lightning may affect daily routines, standing crops, loose structures like electric poles, vehicles and

solar panels etc during the period.

According to the Met Office sources, soaring temperatures conditions are likely to subside during the wet days.

However, it added that a westerly wave is likely to enter western parts of the country on 10th May (evening/night) and likely to grip upper parts on 11th May. Under the influence of this weather system day temperatures are likely to remain 03-05°C above normal from 08th to 10th May in Balochistan. Meanwhile, rain /thunderstorm is also expected in Quetta and other areas of the province.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), said the Met Office, day temperatures are likely to remain 02-03°C above normal from 08th to 10th May with rain-thunderstorm/thunderstorm is expected in various parts of the province. Hailstorm is also expected at isolated places during the period in KP, it added.

So far as Gilgit-Baltistan/Kashmir is concerned, day temperatures are likely to remain 03-05°C above normal from 08th to 10th May. Rain-wind/thunderstorm is expected in both the places.

In Punjab and Islamabad, said the Met Office, day temperatures are likely to remain 03-05°C above normal from 08th to 10th May. rain/thunderstorm is expected from 10th (night) to 12th May.

In Sindh, day temperatures are likely to remain 03-05°C above normal from 08th to 10th May. Dust-thunderstorm/ rain is expected in Sukkur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Larkana, Dadu, Qambar Shahdad Kot, Jamshoro and Sanghar on 10th (night) and 11th May.
