ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday said that any negotiation with the federal government would be futile after the statement by ex-caretaker prime minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar about Form-47.

It is pertinent to mention here that Kakar and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hanif Abbasi reportedly had a heated exchange, during which the former issued a warning, suggesting that revealing certain information about Form-47 could leave the PML-N nowhere to hide.

Talking to reporters at Adiala Jail following the hearing of the Al-Qadir Trust case, Imran Khan said that he is ready for an inquiry on the 2014 PTI’s sit-in. “I would be happy to be summoned in the inquiry committee set up for the probe of the 2014 sit-in”, Khan said, adding that all the allegations leveled against him regarding the 2014 sit-in are false.

The PTI founder said that the elections held for president, chief minister Punjab, and the Senate chairman were fraud.

Khan said that we have no problem with the Pakistan army and it is our army. “I came to know about the May 9 incidents when I was produced before the Supreme Court,” Khan said, adding that he had condemned the May 9 incidents in front of former chief justice Umar Ata Bandial.

He further said that we have dissolved two governments for holding elections. [Such] a political party does not want chaos, he added.

Earlier, Accountability Court judge Nasir Javed Rana, while hearing the £190 million National Crime Agency (NCA) scam commonly known as the Al-Qadir Trust recorded statements of another prosecution witness.

The PTI founding chairman and Bushra Bibi’s lawyers, Salman Safdar and Zaheer Abbas Chaudhry appeared before the court.

During the hearing, the defence counsel completed the cross-examination of one prosecution witness. So far, the court recorded statements of 27 witnesses and the defence counsels completed the cross-examination of 18 prosecution witnesses.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case till May 13 and summoned two more witnesses. Meanwhile, the court also approved Khan’s plea seeking a medical check-up.
