The Federal Board of Revenue has decided to issue an income tax return form in Urdu language to attract retailers and small and medium business units to voluntarily file their returns in national language. Sources told Business Recorder here on Thursday that the FBR has finalised the return form in Urdu. The new form would be uploaded at the FBR website seeking comments of the stakeholders.
The final return form would be notified incorporating suggestions of the business and trade. The Urdu version of the income tax return form would be used by the manual filers, whereas the same cannot be filed electronically. There would be least chances of errors in filing of return form in Urdu following proper guidance to the taxpayers.
The FBR has been working on the Urdu version of the return for quire sometime and finally a simplified form has been drafted. It has been estimated that the wholesalers and retailers would be encouraged to come forward and file their returns in Urdu language. Similarly, the small taxpayers would also be provided an opportunity to manually file their returns in Urdu, sources added.
