LAHORE: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has paid tribute to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for increasing target of wheat procurement and called it a farmer-friendly initiative.
“There is someone who truly understands the hard work and dedication of the farmers,” Naqvi said in a post on Wednesday.
Naqvi said the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken a commendable step by approving the increase in Passco's wheat procurement target from 1.4 million tonnes to 1.8 million tonnes. This farmer-friendly initiative reflects Shahbaz Sharif's commitment to support our agricultural community and ensure food security, he added.
Moreover, Mohsin Naqvi, who is also Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Wednesday returned home after the series triumph against Ireland.
During his visit to Ireland, Naqvi held a meeting with the Ireland Cricket chief to discuss the series between Pakistan and Ireland in the future as well. The possibility of holding the series between Pakistan women and Ireland women was also discussed.
