Pakistani shooters Gulfam Joseph and Kishmala Talat continued their disappointing run on day 3 of the Paris Olympics 2024 as they failed to qualify for the medal round of the mixed 10m Air Pistol team event at the Chateauroux Shooting Centre on Monday.
The duo scored a total of 571-17x and finished 14th in the mixed team event in which 17 teams were participating.
This was their third appearance at the Games. Talat and Joseph had previously competed in the men’s and men’s 10m air pistol events, finishing 31st and 22nd, respectively.
In the mixed team event, Turkey’s Sevval Ilayda Tarhan and Yusuf Dikec topped the qualification round with a score of 582-18x, equalling the Olympic qualification record. They will compete for the gold medal against Serbia’s Zorana Arunovic and Damir Mikec, who scored 581-24x.

India’s Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot, forming the India 1 team, qualified for the bronze medal match with a total of 580-20x. They will face the Republic of Korea 1 team, consisting of Jin Ye Oh and Wonho Lee, who scored 579-18x.
The top four teams from the qualification round advance further. The Gold/Silver Medal Match is contested by the top two teams, while the Bronze Medal Match features the teams in positions 3 and 4. The finals of the event will take place on July 30.
Pakistan’s coach rued “bad day” for another disappointing show at the Games, but was hopeful for a better performance in future events.
Kishmala is due to represent Pakistan in the rapid-fire sports pistol event on August 2, while the third Pakistani shooter Ghulam Muhammad Bashir will feature in the rapid-fire pistol event on August 4.
