LAHORE: The Punjab government has approved nine development schemes worth more than Rs50 billions on Tuesday.

The approval was given in the 10th meeting of Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) which was held under the Chairmanship of Chairman P&D Board Barrister Nabeel Ahmad Awan on Tuesday.

The schemes are related to irrigation, urban development, school education, energy and roads and bridges sectors with an estimated cost of Rs50766.848 million.

Extension of Colony Protection Bund of Marala Barrage and Realignment of Tunnelwah Nullah in Sialkot District at the cost of Rs3162.289 million was the first approved scheme.

Apni Chaat Apna Ghar Program at the cost of Rs9889.681 million and Chief Minister Punjab Schools Meal Program at the cost of Rs6011.228 million were also approved in the meeting.

CM Initiative for Agro Forestry for Forest Waste Land at the cost of Rs1000 million and Chief Minister’s “Plant for Pakistan” initiative at the cost of Rs8000 million were approved. Aquaculture Shrimp Farming in Punjab at the cost of Rs8530.490 million and Chief Minister Roshan Gharaana Program at the cost of Rs9500 million were approved.

Rehabilitation of G.T Road from Quaid-e-Azam Interchange (Lahore Ring Road) to Wagah Border, District Lahore, at the cost of Rs3282.450 million and construction of under pass at Kachehri Rasulnagar Road Railway Crossing City Sheikhupura at the cost of Rs1390.710 million were also included the approved development schemes.

Secretary P&D Board Dr. Asif Tufail, Chief Economist Dr. Nasir Iqbal Malik, Members P&D Board, Head of relevant departments and other senior representatives of the relevant provincial departments attended the meeting.
