The Employees' Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) has registered 136 new employers and 37,012 workers from different establishments in Lahore Region. This was disclosed by EOBI senior official Qamar Riaz here on Tuesday. He said EOBI was a prime welfare organisation for labour welfare in the country that provided pensioners benefits to the workers/employees of the private sectors, industrial, commercial establishments during their old age, invalidity and after their demise to their survivors.
He further said there were total 59,487 numbers of pensioners whereas 41,636 old-age pensions, 17,025 survivor pensions and 826 invalidity pensions were being disbursed in the region through National Bank and Easy-Paisa for the respected pensioners of EOBI. He further informed that five offices including Canal Road, Garden Town, Gulberg, Shahdra and Manga Mandi were established in Lahore Region.
