KARACHI: The total cargo handled at Karachi Port during the last 24 hours closed at 172,214 Metric Tones. The break up shows that the port has handled 46,631 Metric Tones of export cargo and 125,583 Metric Tons of import cargos during the period.

The total import cargos of 125,583 M. Tons comprised of 33,408 M. Tones of containerized cargo; 2,759 M. Tons of bulk cargo; 2,416 M. Tons of chickpeas and 87,000 M. Tons of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargos of 46,631 M. Tons comprised of 16,813 M. Tones of containerized cargo; 50 M. Tons of bulk cargo; 4,332 M. Tones of barite lumps; 23,573 M. Tones of clinkers and 1,863 M. Tones of talc powder.

There were seven ships namely Cap Andreas, Tomini Entity, Koi, Maria Glory, Addison, KMTC Delhi and Xin Long Yun -55 with containers, tankers and talc powder at the berths.

There are four ships namely Meghna Prosper, CMA CGM Gemini,One Matrix andVung Tau Express sailed off from Karachi Port.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 252,801 tonnes comprising 201,613 tonnes of import cargo and 51188 tonnes of export cargo including 5420 loaded and empty containers (2529 TEUs imports and 2891 TEUs export) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

The total import cargo of 201,613 tonnes includes 42,993 tonnes of containerized cargo; 20,536 tonnes of palm oil; 45,037 tonnes of gas oil; 45,833 tonnes of LNG; 44,319 tonnes of coal; 2370 tonnes of fertilizer and 525 tonnes of palm kernel.

The total export cargo of 51,188 tonnes includes 49,147 tonnes of containerized cargo and 2041 tonnes of rice.

There are five ships currently at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim out of them two ships, Farza Roma and Hafnia Express and three more ships, SSL Brahmoputra, Cape Andreas and Maersk Cape Town are scheduled to load/unload rice, gas oil and containers are expected to take berths at FAP, FOTCO and QICT, respectively today on 25th September. Two more container ships Teno and San Francisco Bridge are due to arrive at port on Thursday 26th September 2024.
