Wateen Telecom, Pakistan's leading converged communications provider participated in the prestigious Forbes Global CEO conference, held recently in Dubai from 21st-23rd October 2012, which is hosted by the Government of Dubai with the support of corporate sponsors.
The Forbes Global CEO Summit takes place annually and aims at creating an opportunity for global leaders to meet, engage in business and discuss visions for a sustainable future. The summit, which concluded successfully in Dubai, gathered some 400 global CEOs, tycoons, entrepreneurs, up-and-comers, capitalists and other leaders to discuss the latest trends and innovations that would drive the global economy in 2013 and beyond.
The event was attended by UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Cabinet Affairs Minister Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of State Reem Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Chairman of the Dubai Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, in addition to a number of state officials along with other dignitaries across the globe.
Wateen's CEO Naeem Zamindar was one of the selected panellists at this event; as a panellist Zamindar participated in one of the event's main plenary sessions, as well as one of the boardroom dialogue sessions, a Wateen press release said here on Wednesday.
It said under the theme of 'The Race Ahead', the Conference examined how policy and business leaders are facing critical challenges in the global competition for prosperity. Panels analysed the state of the world economy and focus on the best strategies for success in global business. The Plenary session discussed the latest trends in sectors such as finance, energy and commodities, technology and innovation, entrepreneurship, urban living, as well as the best practices in philanthropy and leadership.
Later, commenting on the Forbes Global CEO conference, Zamindar said: "It is a great honour for me to represent Wateen - and Pakistan - at this incredible event. Not only is it a chance to interact with global leaders, but also it presented an opportunity to demonstrate Pakistan's crucial role in the global technology and telecommunications stage."
