A gang of robbers on Tuesday looted Rs 1.6 million from a private bank branch located near Bab-e-Khyber, Metroville site in the precincts of SITE-A police station. SHO Rao Rafiq said that at around 10:05 AM, some three armed robbers barged into the bank and held the staff hostage at gunpoint after snatching weapons from the security guards.
He said the robbers then moved to the cash counter and looted around Rs 1.6 million and other valuables from the staff. Moreover, he said that the robbers did not take the CCTV footages away from bank premises. No case was registered till the filing of this report.
