Taiwan stocks rose 0.7 percent to a nearly two-week closing high on Tuesday, led by Apple Inc suppliers such as Largan Precision after the phone lenses maker posted record monthly sales in October. The main TAIEX index gained 51.32 points to 7,236.68, its highest closing level since October 25.
Largan surged almost 5 percent, smaller rival Genius rose 4 percent and Hon Hai Precision added 2.6 percent. The Taiwan dollar was up by T$0.073 to stand at T$29.232. Foreign investors were net buyers on Monday, but they are net total sellers of T$2.4 billion this month.
