Spot basis bids for hard red winter wheat in the US Plains held steady on Friday in routine dealings. Merchants said mill demand was thin with timely deliveries of contracted wheat. Country selling was light. Protein premiums for railcar wheat to and through Kansas City were up 5 cents a bushel for ordinary and 11.00 percent protein wheat and up 2 cents a bushel for 12.00- through 12.60-pro wheat supplies.
Kansas City Board of Trade hard red winter wheat futures closed Thursday with the December contract at $9.37 per bushel.
