The Lahore High Court Chief Justice here Wednesday adjourned to January 9 next the proceedings in a petition challenging the increase in the prices of petroleum products and directed the petitioner to file his rejoinder to a reply submitted by Ogra. The chief justice also directed the petitioner to submit details of the profit and taxes being collected by OGDCL, Ogra and PSO.
Earlier, the petitioner, Azhar Siddique advocate, argued that different departments of the government were making profit in billions from petroleum products and also collecting taxes from consumers. He said the consumers were being subjected to double taxation.
