Doctors Community of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday set a two weeks deadline for implementation of service structure and acceptance of their demands, warned that if government was not fulfilled demands would go on complete strike against it.
Speaking at a press conference at Peshawar Press Club, the president Provincial Doctors' Association Dr Abdul Qadar alleged that the government was using delaying tactics in implementation of the new proposed service structure for doctor community in the province.
Flanked by PDA chairman, Dr Shahsawar and others, he said that drafted had been pended with finance and establishment department for the last two years. He informed that promotion of doctors had been badly affected due to absence of service structure, as they were retired in same grade despite prolonged services.
PDA president informed that more than 1,000 doctors would be affected from the absence of the service structure. He said that unserious attitude of the government was creating unrest among the doctor's community, adding that if we would be better position to better health service after implementation of service structure for them. Under the proposed new service structure, he said the around 42 doctors of BSP-19 would be upgraded at BSP-20, while about 363 to 500 doctors also be promoted from grade18 to 19.
Dr Shahsawar said that the government should practical implement service structure instead of hollow slogans. He said the doctors are being played importance role in current militancy situation prevailed in the province. Condemning the kidnapping of Dr Aziz, he said that the government was completely failed to provide security to doctor's community. He said they had raised issue several time with concerned authorities, but no effective step was taken in this regard.
