Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Barrister Masood Kausar has said that the promotion of science and technology is a right step to enhance employment opportunities and promote economic development activities for betterment of the people and the steps underway in this respect at the government level are indeed an appreciable headway.
Talking to the Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Mir Changez Khan Jamali who called on him at Governor's House, Peshawar here on Sunday the Governor particularly referred to his visit to the science and technology exhibition held under the auspices of the Peshawar based chapter of Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research Laboratories and said, that though an appreciable headway has been made yet there is a need to further promote the process with an accelerated pace.
Responding to various points, the Governor also highly eulogised the keen interest of the Federal Minister and his team in the promotion of scientific and industrial research based economic activities in the province and also mentioned the scope for efficient utilisation of mineral resources of Fata in particular.
Serious efforts, he added, are already underway to ensure better outcome of the available resources and expressed the hope that the measures underway under the aegis of PCSIR laboratories would prove of great benefit in this respect. He also assured every possible support to the respective organisations for ensuring their smooth working and proper utilisation of the available means in this connection.
