The Karachi Port handled 90,076 tonnes of cargo comprising 44,476 tonnes of import cargo and 45,600 tonnes of export cargo including 4,782 loaded & empty containers during the last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 44,476 tonnes comprised 36,423 tonnes of containerised cargo; 700 tonnes of general cargo; 7,103 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,109 tonnes of urea; 4,994 tonnes of DAP and 250 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 45,600 tonnes comprised 43,665 tonnes of containerised cargo; 93 tonnes of general cargo; 1,842 tonnes of bulk cargo: 886 tonnes of cement; 637 tonnes of rice and 319 tonnes of sugar. As many as 4,782 containers comprising 2,392 containers import and 2,390 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. The brakeup of imported containers shows 1,441 of 20's and 462 of 40's loaded while 27 of 20's and nil of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,315 of 20's and 409 of 40's loaded containers while 83 of 20's and 87 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There are four ships namely Northern Dedication, Hyundai General, Bow Fuji and Aquamarine Ace with two container ships, one oil tanker and one vehicles carrier respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There are four vessels viz Aglaia, Maliakos, Aysan and Lycavitos with three container ships and one bulk cargo ship respectively are currently at the berths.
There are three ships namely Aglaia, Aysan and Lissy Schulte with three container ships respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday, while two ships namely Maliakos and Kota Gembira carrying two container ships respectively are expected to sail on Wednesday.
There are three vessels viz Jolly, MT Quetta and Torrens with one container ship, one crude oil tanker and one live stock carrier respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while four vessels viz Santa Rufina, APL Brisbane, Morning Express and Safina-2 with two container ships, one naphtha tanker and one sugar ship respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 44,498 tonnes comprising 40,939 tonnes of import cargo and 3,559 tonnes of export cargo inclusive nil loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 40,939 tonnes includes 30,429 tonnes of furnace oil; 3,200 tonnes of canola seeds and 7,310 tonnes of chemicals. The total export cargo includes 3,559 tonnes of cement. There are two ships namely MV Cos Glory and MV Bhairavi with canola seeds and chemicals respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning.
A total number of five vessels viz MV Genius Star-II, MV Thor Independence, MV Bhairavi, MT Akaki and MV Cos Glory are currently occupying berths to load/offload rice, cement, chemicals, furnace oil and canola seeds respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as three ships namely Nedlloyd Mercator, CMA CGM Ravel and Asphalt Merchant with containers and bitumen respectively are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. There are four vessels viz CV Nedlloyd Mercator, CV CMA CGM Ravel, CV Al-Noof-II and MV Asphalt Merchant with containers and bitumen are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
One furnace oil tanker namely MT Al-Marzooqah due to arrive on Tuesday, while two more ships namely CV CMA CGM Eiffel and MT Lahore with containers and furnace oil are due to arrive on Wednesday.
