Watch this robot solve Rubik’s Cube in just a blink of an eye
Engineers have recently developed a robot that is smart enough to solve a Rubik’s Cube just under a second.
For a normal human being, it takes quite a lot of time to solve a complicated Rubik’s Cube, however, seems like it’s just a piece of cake for robots. The ‘Rubik’s Contraption’ has been manufactured by Ben Katz and Jared DiCarlo and it immediately broke the record for the fastest time ever to solve a Rubik’s Cube, in just 0.38 seconds to be precise.

Breaking the 0.627 record set in 2016 by the robot ‘Sub1 Reloaded’, the Contraception solved the puzzle in just 21 moves.

The new robot uses a combination of custom parts, which are cheap and also easily acquirable, informed Science Alert. Including six motors and optical encoders, the robot is equipped with two PlayStation Eye cameras. They also built custom motor drivers and a custom ‘AND board’ in order to make sure none of the motors operate simultaneously. This prevents them from trying to make concurrent moves, and, in turn, keeps the Rubik's Cubes from exploding.
“The machine can definitely go faster, but the tuning process is really time consuming since debugging needs to be done with the high speed camera, and mistakes often break the cube or blow up FETs," Katz wrote on his blog.
