The police Wednesday arrested two cops allegedly involved in stealing huge cache of official weapons. SSP Farrukh Lanjar said that besides several mortar shells, 1,63,000 bullets of Kalashnikov and 18,000 rounds of G3 assault rifle were reported missing from the arms depot in Police Line of Qambar Shahdadkot. He said that the disappearance of the ammunition came to his knowledge after a visit to the depot.
The SSP said that two policemen Hidayatullah Mastoi and Ali Raza were arrested in connection with the missing ammunition. Farrukh Lanjar said that a case has been registered against the accused who have been found guilty in selling the rounds and mortar shells. Taking notice of the incident, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has sought a report from the Inspector General Sindh Police.
