Pakistan pacer Wahab Riaz has vowed to make a comeback in the national side after performing in the ongoing third season of Pakistan Super League (PSL).

The 32-year-old took 1-26 in Peshawar Zalmi’s six-wicket defeat against Quetta Gladiators, taking his tally to 11 in eight matches — second behind Multan Sultans’s Imran Tahir who has 11.

In an interview, the pacer said, “My performance is good so if Pakistan team needs me I will play but if they don’t need me, then someone else will play.”

Wahab further said that as long as he is fit, he can break into Pakistan team. “Look, I can play for Pakistan as long as I am fit and I know that hard work pays but there can be a delay,” said Wahab, who had a few banters with Quetta and Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed.

“I am very friendly with Sarfraz, so such things happen on the field. I like to tease him,” said Wahab.

The bowler has not played international cricket since his 0-87 in 8.4 overs against India at Birmingham in June last year and last played a Test in October against Sri Lanka, also last year. His last Twenty20 was also in April 2017.
