Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was inked between Wah Brass Mill Pvt Ltd & M/s. Vitkovic Czech Republics for up-gradation of existing Brass Mill on Wednesday. POF through its commercial window - Wah Industries Ltd has planned the up-gradation of Brass Mill which will enable an increase production capacity of 24, 000 metric tons from the present costing capacity of 7,000 metric ton through a more efficient and expanded process.
This project will also cater to the local and international military requirement of brass products by the improved quality and the enhanced capacity will help in catering for the domestic requirement of the country on commercial terms. The project will ensure enough returns to make the projects self-sustainable and will also encourage foreign investment in Pakistan.
Khalid Pervaiz, Managing Director Wah Brass Mill Pvt Ltd signed MoU from POF side and Major General Josef Dofuk (Retd), Chief Executive M/s. Vitkovic from Czech Republic side. Lieutenant General Muhammad Ahsan Mahmood, HI(M) Chairman POF Board, Riaz Ahmed Member POF Board, Syed Naseem Raza Chief Executive Wah Nobel Pvt Ltd H.E. Miroslav Krenek, Ambassador Czech Republic and Colonel Stanislave Tesarek, Defence Attache, Embassy of Czech Republic participated in the MoU signing ceremony.
Chairman POF Board while expressing his views on this occasion remarked that this agreement would prove a mile stone towards commercialisation through a private-public partnership and will help POF in meeting the defence requirement of the country by utilising the modern technologies. POF Chairman further said that according to the agreement, POF would be able to manufacture its products according to the Nato and international standards. It will also help to save foreign exchange and provide job opportunities to the people of Pakistan.-PR
