A technical seminar by International Experts and Archaeologists from France, Italy and Pakistan was held at Bhambhore (District Thatto) on Friday, under the aegis of the two departments of Government of Sindh viz. Culture and Antiquities. The "Technical Session" was culmination of the decision taken in First International Conference on Bhambhore, held in February, 2012, by Culture Department, for excavations of the Archaeological Remains of Bhambhore.
The exercise was carried out by Pak-French-Italian Joint Archaeological Mission. Delivering her Presidential address to the seminar, Sassui Palijo, Minister for Culture Sindh, said that Bhambhore and Makli are dear to her heart, besides Mohan-Jo-Daro, Lakhian-Jo-Daro and all other archaeological heritage of Sindh. The project will be launched in January, 2013. Similarly, five other mega projects for other major sites e.g Mohen-Jo-Daro, Makli and other heritage sites also stand approved and will be launched next month, she asserted. The Minister congratulated all members of the Joint Mission for their successful activity and results. She assured them of her department's full support and co-operation.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Kaleemullah Lashari said that Sindh was rich in the archaeological treasure and it possess the ancient history of civil society. He said that many archaeological sites are still under the surface and yet to be discovered, examined and promoted to common man.
The French Archaeological experts including Dr Monik Krevran, Nicolas Morelle, Le Bomin Joachim and Paul Wormser, the Italian Archaeological experts including Professor Valeria Piacentini, Agnese Fusaro, Alessandro Tilia, Piacentini Mario and Felici Anna Canndida, the Pakistani experts including Kalemullah Lashari, Dr Asima Ibrahim, Sarfraz Nawaz, Shakir Ali, Saeed Ahmed, Abid Hussain, Shafaqat Hussain, Muhammad Ali and Ayaz Ali participated and many of them spoken the occasion.
