Industry Support Cell (ISC), Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (SMEDA) Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa launched energy audit management campaign in the province. In this connection the cell joined hands with various universities on efficiency and renewable energy.
In this connection ISC Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa in collaboration with Industry Support Cell (ISC) Lahore organised a one-day seminar on energy management and Renewable Energy at Abbottabad Campus of University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Peshawar. The seminar was largely attended by faculty members and students of the campus.
Addressing the seminar, Engineer Hidayatullah Khattak, Management Associate, Industrial Support Cell, KP said that like Punjab and Sindh, they have also started work in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and will conduct the energy consumption audit of the industrial units and introduce measures for the promotion of energy saving. He said that the energy audit will be carried out on the basis of 'No cost-Low Cost' saying they had carried successful energy audit to two industrial units of Hattar Industrial Estate and have succeeded in bringing maximum cut in the electricity bill of the units concerned.
On this occasion, the Resource Person, SMEDA, Industry Support Cell, Mohammad Azeem Khan introduced the students to the latest trends in energy management and savings achieved by the cell in various factories over last several years.
The seminar also focused on various potential forms and viable renewable energy resources including solar, biomass and micro hydro. Chairman, Electronic Engineering Department, Dr. Syed Riaz-ul-Hassan, thanked SMEDA for organising the seminar to enlighten the students with the issue of energy efficiency and management.
