An official from United Nations praised cooperation between Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan in fight against drugs and said their cooperation 'resulted in practical successes'.
According to a report on the official UN website, Executive Director of the UN Office on Drug and Crime Control, Yuri Fedotov, referring to the ongoing cooperation between Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan in fight against drugs said that close collaboration and intensive cooperation between these three neighbouring countries have achieved operational successes.
He said that more than eight tons of drugs have been discovered in joint operation between these three countries. The Director of the UNODC Yuri Fedotov who recently visited Iran and has talked with Iranian officials concerning efforts to fight against drug smuggling has also attended a joint meeting of Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan drug control officers in Tehran for effective joint confrontation with narcotics' traffickers.
