Kisan Board Pakistan (KBP) arranged a demonstration on Monday to protest against the government decision of declaring India as Most Favourite Nation (MFN). KBP Vice President Sarfraz Ahmad Khan and KBP Central Punjab President Noor Elahi Tutla led the demonstration, which was held in front of the Lahore Press Club.
Besides them, the demonstration was also addressed by Sardar Ashfaq Muhammad Dogar, KBP Deputy Secretary Akhtar Farooq and other leadership of Punjab. KBP leaders alleged that India was an enemy country, which at present was hatching the conspiracy to stop supply of rivers' water to Pakistan and ruin its agriculture.
On the other hand, our rulers were asking the Pakistani growers to compete with Indians who were heavily subsidised while in Pakistan farmers were facing long loadshedding and expensive agricultural inputs. They urged the government to stop this hypocritical policy and end trade with India. He said that Pakistani growers should be provided cheaper agricultural inputs while more dams should be constructed on war footing to remove water shortage for agriculture and generate cheaper power.
They warned that if their demands were not met and government initiated trade with India then growers would block the trade route at Wagha. They said that trucks loaded with trade goods had to face the growers for crossing the border.
They said that today's demonstration should be taken as a warning from the growers and they should refrain from giving India MFN status otherwise rulers would be thrown in to India through Wagha. They alleged that rulers were putting national solidarity and security at stake to protect their personal interests.
