The position holders of intermediate examinations from Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Sindh, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir and federal board, who have been invited by the Punjab government, on Tuesday paid a visit to Punjab University Main Library and other departments.
Director External Linkages Maria Maldonado, Chief Librarian Chaudhry Muhammad Hanif and others welcomed the delegates. Chief Librarian Chaudhry Muhammad Hanif briefed the delegation about various sections of Main Library. The delegation also visited other departments of Punjab University. PU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Mujahid Kamran hosted a lunch in the honour of position holders.
He lauded the efforts of Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif who had encouraged new talent by taking historical measures. Talking to media, the Vice Chancellor said that observing holiday on Quaid and Iqbal days is the best way to silence the services of the great leaders. He said that ceremonies must be organised in all educational institutions on such events to create awareness among the youth regarding the services, thoughts, personality, etc, of the great leaders.
