A meeting of the secretaries' committee was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Ghulam Dastagir Akhtar, at Civil Secretariat, Peshawar, on Friday. The Committee expressed its deep sense of shock and sorrow over the sad demise of ex-Senior Minister Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Bashir Ahmad Bilour.
The Committee observed that the deceased Senior Minister rendered supreme sacrifice for the sacred cause of defending the noble value of tolerance, civility, peace and humanity and embraced Shahadat in a suicide attack. The Chief Secretary Ghulam Dastagir Akhtar observed that Bashir Ahmad Bilour as Senior Minister immensely contributed to deliberations in the cabinet and as a seasoned politician and always guided his younger colleagues and encouraged them for active participation in the process. Moreover, he said, despite grave threats, he openly and continuously condemned terrorist attacks and consoled the victims and their families by visiting them. The government has lost a conscientious, devoted and a competent minister, he concluded.
