New York police have detained a woman suspected of shoving a 46-year-old Indian immigrant into a moving subway train where he was crushed to death, media reports said Saturday. The woman apparently made statements to police that implicated her in the attack that occurred Thursday, New York newspapers reported, citing police sources.
The Indian immigrant, Sunando Sen, died after he was pushed into an oncoming subway train in Queens, a borough of New York City. It was the second incident this month where someone was knocked to their death on the tracks of New York's underground train system.
In video footage of Thursday's attack, a heavyset woman runs toward Sen and pushes him off the subway platform. Sen was waiting for the next train with his back to her. After she hit him, he was crushed by the first two cars of the train, the Daily News reported.
