Beware! Wireless charging is damaging your iPhone

Instead of making lives easier for users, the latest option of wireless charging for iPhone 8 and iPhoneX has made things difficult for many, as the devices are facing technical problems because of it.

The recent iPhones came out with some spectacular features. From wider screens to sleeker bodies, advanced camera settings to wireless charging, the phones had everything a gadget lover could look for. However, a few users are facing issues with wireless charging on their devices. The wireless charging pads do not come with the iPhone and instead they are sold separately.

According to wccftech, when an iPhoneX is charged with a wire, the cable is powering the device. In case of wireless charging, the phone’s battery is getting power directly from the pad. This puts the phone in a lot of strain and the device either heats up or shuts down.

Another problem faced by multiple users is that the phone would stop charging even if the device is slightly moved. Apparently phone’s vibration can also disrupt charging.

CEO claims Apple informed users before slowing down iPhones

According to Apple, its iPhone batteries are designed in a way that they retain up to 80% of its original capacity at 500 complete charge cycles, which according to ZDNet blogger Adrian Kingsley-Hughes might take three years to accomplish. However, Kingsley-Hughes discovered that wireless charging is causing him to run through these battery cycles more quickly and at this rate, the 500 complete charge cycle would be hit within 20 months, which is not even two complete years of usage.

Moreover, this new battery problem came in when Apple was recently found guilty for intentionally slowing down older iPhones, which landed Apple in hot waters when more than 36 class-action lawsuits were filed against the Cupertino-based company.

Once again, the tech giant is facing battery problems that too in its flagship device and this will probably not be good for Apple in the long run.
