The Department of Science and Information Technology (S&IT) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa established computer labs in 13 Bacha Khan Schools run under the auspices of Bacha Khan Trust Educational Foundation in Peshawar The Minister for Science and Technology Mohammad Ayub Khan, who was chief guest on the occasion inaugurated the computer labs.
Speaking on the occasion, Ayub Khan said that the present government had planned to support education of the new generation through introduction of modern technology at the schools level. He said that Information Technology is the need of the present century. He further said that Bacha Khan Trust Educational Foundation (BKTEF) is named after the great reformer of the 20th century which explains the motto of the BKTEF.
He said that the present government, despite all odds, has made it sure that modern education reaches every child of the province on priority basis. He said that it is important that our new generation gets useful and productive education at par with technologically advanced countries. He concluded that the BKTEF shall go a long way to create models of education that are beneficial for the children of Pakhtunkhwa.
Speaking on the occasion, Managing Director of the BKTEF Dr Khadim Hussain said that the Bacha Khan Trust Educational Foundation is struggling to continue the legacy of the Khudai Khidmatgaar Movement, hence working hard to provide free and quality education to the underserved communities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA.
He said that the BKTEF has developed models of Critical Education, Peace Education and Culture Education that would help prepare a land friendly, nature-friendly, nation friendly and human friendly generation. He further said that the BKTEF strives to develop Critical Thinking, Multiple Skills, Aesthetic Sense, Indigenous Identity and Environmental Sense among the coming generation of KP and FATA so that peace, prosperity and progress prevail in the coming decades. The MD BKTEF thanked the Ministry of Science & Technology which established state of the art computer laboratories in 13 Bacha Khan Schools.
Deputy Commissioner Peshawar, Javed Marwat, Director Information Technology, Bilal Jabbar, Principals of all Bacha Khan Schools, Members of Community Education Committees, Members of Youth Development Centres and the BKTEF staff participated in the ceremony.
