Member Finance, Pakistan Telecom-munication Authority (PTA), Nasrul Kareem Ghaznavi, has said he has resigned on Wednesday. Well-placed sources told Business Recorder that Ghaznavi resigned due to immense pressure after Monday's incident at PTA headquarter wherein members Finance and Technical of PTA were manhandled by some unknown persons.
According to the sources, both the members had strongly resisted the Information of Memorandum (IM) for 3G license and did not approve it which ultimately delayed the auction process for third time. According to the sources, the government is not happy with both the members, and despite ban by the Election Commission of Pakistan on new appointments, the Cabinet division has already advertised both the posts.
It is worth mentioning here that Member Finance is going to retire on February 14, 2013. Ghaznavi confirmed to Business Recorder that he resigned and would submit his resignation to Cabinet Division on Thursday (today). He said that he resigned on personal grounds.
