The All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) on Wednesday rejected hike in the price of natural gas terming it worst victimisation of masses and industry. The upward revision in gas tariff to the tune of around Rs 10 per unit cannot be allowed under any circumstances, it said. The mala fide intentions of the petroleum ministry are pushing country in the dark ages while Punjab is being penalised on purpose, said Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha, Chairman Supreme Council APCNGA.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, he said that gas load shedding for CNG filling stations is illegal as government is bound to provide gas 365 days a year according to the agreements. Government has been violating agreements and harassing CNG operators including those who got relief from courts which prove their enmity with the sector providing economic fuel to the masses facing runaway inflation.
Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha said that the industries that obtain relief from courts are not being annoyed which prove their double standards. The leader of the CNG sector said that the conspiracies of the petroleum ministry has left country as well as masses insecure while inflicting losses to the tune of billions on CNG operators.
Demanding immediate compensation for the heavy losses, Paracha said that CNG sector has no alternative to run business while other influential sectors have many options available for energy. He said that government is bent upon bankrupting CNG station owners to deprive masses of economical fuel and realise plot to import costly liquid gasses to make billions before leaving country.
Paracha added that most of the CNG outlets have been closed but the domestic consumers are not getting full pressure because gas has silently been diverted to sectors that paid huge bribes to rules in the name of election fund. He asked the President and Prime Minister to take note of the situation, bar concerned departments from abusing position and provide relief to masses and business community.-PR
