The old games are the best, or so a lot of gamers believe. However, it's difficult to run games that are 10 years or older on modern computers. The solution is the compatibility mode that Windows offers. This option is found under "Properties" if you right-click on the shortcut to the game. There you can choose which older version of Windows will be simulated.
Older games that rely on the DOS operating system can push compatibility mode to its limits. In this case it makes sense to try the open source programme DOSBox, which is also available for Mac and Linux.
