The new Playbar from Sonos can not only improve the sound of a television, it can also play music from the home network or the internet. The fabric and aluminium covered device holds nine speakers (six mid-range and three tweeters), is 90 centimetres wide and connects to a TV via an optical cable.
Sensors automatically detect whether the soundbar is under or above the television, adjusting the sound accordingly. The device connects with the internet either wirelessly or via Ethernet cable and can stream music from services such as Last.fm, Rdio or Spotify.
