PPP MNA from Muzaffargarh Jamshed Dasti on Friday announced his decision to resign from the Pakistan People's Party (PPP). Talking to newsmen at his native town of Muzaffargarh on Friday he said that Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar belonged to a feudal family and she never visited her constituency after returning as MNA in direct election in 2008.
He alleged that Hina Rabbani Khar belonged to Pervez Musharraf lobby that is now being supported by PPP stalwarts. He announced to take part in general elections from NA-177 and NA-178 as an independent candidate. "I have decided to resign from the PPP. I have not applied for party ticket," he said. He said that only 1,200 people turned up at a public meeting held by Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and Hina Rabbani Khar today. He bitterly criticised the Home Minister Rehman Malik for victimising him.
