At least five persons were killed in separate incidents of violence in the Sindh metropolis on Saturday. According to police and rescue sources, unidentified armed men shot dead a man named Nadeem, 45, outside his house in Sector 5-G of New Karachi. Police said he worked as a bus conductor and might have been killed over a personal feud.
Zaheer Baloch, 22, was shot dead at Afshani Gali near Jhat Phat Market in the limits of Kalakot police station. Police said the deceased was a member of a Lyari gang and his rivals claimed his life over a dispute. A transporter named Haji Aslam was gunned down while his son Umair sustained injuries in an armed attack at their residence in Madina Colony of Baldia Town in the jurisdiction of Madina Colony police station.
Police said that it appeared to be a botched robbery attempt, adding that the two men might have been shot after they offered resistance, but the situation would become clear after the injured son filed his statement. Meanwhile, two more persons were killed while three others sustained injuries in a firing incident took place at backside of new Memon Masjid, Boltan market area on late Saturday. Following the incident, tension prevailed in the area. Police said the deceased were identified, as Farhad 24 son of Nawaz and Mudasir 26 son of Maqsoor while the injured persons were Mehmood, Manzoor and Khalid. Another man identified as Rafiq son of Gul Muhammad was gunned down at Landhi area. Police said the victim had no political or religious affiliation and the motive behind his murder was yet to be ascertained.
Botorbike stolen: A motorcycle was stolen from a parking lot of a textile industry here on Friday. According to details, a staff member, Sharjeel Hussain son of a journalist Arshad Hussain, working in a textile company located Shar Shah complained to Sher Shah police station that he found his motorcycle Number KFP 2451 missing from parking lot at about 2.00pm on Friday.
