President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Sheikh Abdul Majid expressed his support for the notion that there must be an increase in coming year financial budget for Hydel power generation projects, in order to overcome the acute energy crises prevailing in the country.
In a press statement issued on Wednesday evening he appealed to the government to allocate maximum funds for speedy construction of hydel project at Nandipur and whole heartedly supports the different initiatives of the Chamber to explore the possibilities of producing electricity in order to meet the pressing energy demands.
He also maintained that renewable energy options like wind, solar, municipal waste, etc, be initiated as well adding that resolution of electricity load shedding problem demands long-term sustainable planning by the government and the chamber is continuously pressurising the concerned authorities for the adoption of long-term industry-friendly policies for the good of manufacturing and export sectors.
