The country's liquid foreign exchange reserves plunged by $129.4 million during last week. The State Bank of Pakistan on Thursday reported that the country's total forex reserves declined to $12.436 billion as on March 15, 2013. Previously it stood at $12.565 billion as on March 8, 2013.
Reserves held by SBP posted declining trend, while banks' forex reserves witnessed some increase during last week. Reserves held by SBP fell by $204.5 million to $7.45 billion from $7.65 billion. Similarly, reserves held by banks were up by $75.1 million to $4.985 billion from $4.91 billion a week earlier.
