An impressive flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Chancery's premises. High Commissioner Salman Bashir raised the Pakistan flag to the tune of national anthem.
The HC read out the messages of the President and the Prime Minister on the Pakistan Day. He congratulated the Pakistani community in India on this occasion and highlighted the resolve of the Pakistani nation to realise its aspirations for peace, progress and prosperity. The HC also reaffirmed Pakistan's firm determination to develop and promote good, friendly and co-operative relations with all neighbours in particular India.
He emphasised the need for properly handling differences and settling all disputes peacefully through dialogue. He also affirmed the complete solidarity of the Pakistani nation with their Kashmiri brothers. Students of the Pakistan School presented a special programme of performances and national songs. Mrs Taranum Bashir, wife of the High Commissioner, distributed prizes and gifts among the students. The ceremony was moderated by Manzoor Ali Memon, Press Attaché.
