The Karachi Port handled 120,987 tonnes of cargo comprising 84,792 tonnes of import cargo and 36,195 tonnes of export cargo including 3,603 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 84,792 tonnes comprised 9,978 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,285 tonnes of general cargo; 12,865 tonnes of bulk cargo and 60,664 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 36,195 tonnes comprised 31,423 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,962 tonnes of bulk cargo and 1,810 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 3,603 containers comprising 464 containers import and 3,139 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday. The brakeup of imported containers shows 426 of 20's and 19 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and nil of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 800 of 20's and 445 of 40's loaded containers while 93 of 20's and 678 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There are elven ships namely Rio De La Plata, APL Guangzhou, Cape Flores, Wan Hai-603, Rio Charleston, Asaveri, Oriental Clematis, Chemroute Sun, Oriental Protea and Anna Maria with five container ships, five oil tankers and one coal carrier respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There are nine vessels viz Rio De La Plata, Cape Flores, Northern Power, Akaki, Golden Denise, Dong A Calypso, Golden Gion, MV Multan and Rao Heng with three container ships, four oil tankers and two general cargo ships respectively are currently at the berths.
A coke carrier namely Moari Maiden sailed out to sea on Monday, while two ships namely Golden Denise and Golden Gion with two oil tankers are expected to sail on Tuesday.
There are seven vessels viz Hyundai General, Santa Rosa, UASC Ajman, TS Singapore, Mare De Venezia, Al-Saada and Sark with four container ships, one naphtha tanker, one base oil tanker and one crude oil tanker respectively due to arrive on Monday, while two vessels viz Kota Karim and Ozay-6 with one container ship and one chemical carrier respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 30,032 tonnes comprising 12,401 tonnes of import cargo and 17,631 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 838 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 12,401 tonnes includes 4,250 tonnes of palm oil and 8,151 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 17,631 tonnes includes 1,709 tonnes of rice and 15,922 tonnes of containerised cargo. There are two ships namely CV Maersk Missouri and MT Maritime Yanessa with containers and edible oil respectively are expected to sail on Monday afternoon.
A total number of three vessels viz CV Maersk Missouri, MV Sun Bright and MT Maritime Yanessa are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice and edible oil respectively during the last 24 hours. As many as two ships namely Al-Salam-II and Mercy Wisdom with diesel oil and wheat respectively are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim.
There are two vessels viz CV Maersk Phuket and CV CMA CGM Debussy with containers respectively are expected to take berths at Qasim International Container Terminal on Monday. There are two ships namely CV Abu Dhabi and CV Emirates Mombasa with containers are due to arrive on Tuesday as per arrival schedule.
