The Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has planned to organise an international pavilion in the KCCI"s 10th My Karachi Oasis of Harmony exhibition scheduled to be held from 5th to 7th July 2013. Addressing a press conference, President KCCI, Mohammad Haroon Agar said that this year we have designed tenth sequel of the exhibition to expose the great potencies of regional trade.
He said that the chamber has invited exhibitors from SAARC, GCC, ASEAN and EU countries. He said that the exhibition will act as an avenue for interaction business-to-business linkage and business to consumer relationship. He said that the international pavilion mainly designed for B2B will expose the trade postaxial products of friendly countries as well as Pakistan. He said KCCI always encourage women entrepreneurs, as usual this year also women entrepreneurs pavilion will be featured.
Chairman of businessmen Group (BMG) and former President KCCI, Siraj Kassam Teli said when the exhibition was initiated in 2004 the city facing very critical law-and-order situation whereby bomb blast was rampant and foreign media was painting a dark picture of the country.
He said we started this mega exhibition to improve Pakistan image in the eyes of foreigners. He said that core objective of this mega event is to project and promote the true and real picture of Karachi and Pakistan with an emphasis on Karachi as centre of commercial activities as well as hub for financial, economic and industrial activities of Pakistan.
Chairman Special Committee, Ismail Muhammad Surya said many countries including Japan and Korea have confirmed to participate in the exhibition. India has indicated interest to participate. The purpose of holding this exhibition is to introduce and popularize "Made in Pakistan" brand and negate the negative propaganda against Pakistan and show the world that this is a dynamic country.
Leading Pakistani companies and multinationals and foreign exhibitors will display their products at more than 250 stalls in five halls. He said that it's our aim, this year, to ensure that over 700,000 visitors and businesspersons to visit My-Karachi Exhibition to shop in style and to develop business connections with local and foreign corporate entities which will ultimately depict real image, prestige and nobility of Karachi and Pakistan.
KCCI has taken special measures to organise the event in more vivid and stylish fashion, having International Pavilion and dedicated halls for MNCs and domestic companies, SMEs and women entrepreneurs. It would be a complete exhibition in all aspects encompassing the interests of corporate sector as well as the consumers while truly representing Pakistan in terms of cultural cross section in a unique urban scenario, he concluded.
