Liaquat Baloch Secretary General of Jamaat Islami filed his candidature for NA-149 Multan-II, Malik Aamer Dogar of PPP also filed his candidature on this seat, Makhdoom Javed Hashmi of Tehrik-i-Insaf, Nadeem Mumtaz Qureshi chief of Mustaqbil Pakistan, Syed Fakhar Imam former Speaker of National Assembly, and Muslim League-N's Sheikh Tariq Rasheed will also be main contenders in this constituency.
Malik Muhammad Aasim Dehar of PML-N filed his nomination papers for NA-151 Iftikhar Randhawa member of MQM's Rabita committee has also filed his candidature from Jehanian's seat. Former Punjab Minister Haji Ehsan-uddin Qureshi filed his candidature for PP-197.
A spokesman of Election Commission said that all the returning officers have received the lists of defaulters of PTCL, Banks, ZTBL, Wapda, SNGPL, SSGS, Income Tax, Wasa and other departments. Qurban Fatima, and Naghma Mushtaq of PML-N filed their candidatures on general seats. Abdul Qadar Gilani elder son of Yousaf Raza Gilani will contest from NA-151, younger son Syed Ali Musa Gilani from NA-148 and younger brother Ahmed Mujtaba Gilani from Jalalpur Piwala's provincial assembly seat. Applications for allotment of ticket submitted by the founder members like Khurshid Ahmed Khan city President, Saleem-ur-rehman Mayo President of PPP (Human Rights Wing) Malik Mukhtar Ahmed Awan former law minister and District President of PPP Khalid Hanif Lodhi were rejected without assigning any reasons and fee was not returned to unsuccessful candidates. Former Punjab Governor and Provincial Chief of PML-F Malik Ghulam Mustafa Khar will submit his nomination papers in Kotadu on Friday.
