Federal capital's crime rate graph has shown an upward trend last week despite claims of strict security arrangements by the police high-ups. According to statistics collected by Business Recorder, 12 vehicles and motorcycles were stolen, 15 houses were looted, two women were kidnapped and various police stations of the city registered 14 cases of fake cheques last week.
Statistics show that despite hundreds of police check-posts in different parts of the city particularly at entry and exit points, there is no letup in the crime rate and crimes of various nature including car lifting and car snatching, robberies, kidnapping, murder and other minor crimes are increasing with each passing day.
During the last week, Margalla Police Station registered three theft cases, two cases of carjacking and two cases of fake cheques. Industrial Area Police Station registered three cases of car lifting and one case of fake cheque, Apbara Police Station registered one case each of robbery and fake cheque and two cases of carjacking and Ternol Police Station registered one case each of robbery, car lifting and fake cheques. Ramana Police Station registered two cases of fake cheques and one case each of robbery and car lifting, Kohsar Police Station registered two cases of fake cheques and one case each of kidnapping and car lifting, Shalimar Police Station registered two cases of car theft and one case of fake cheque during last week. During the last week, Lohi Beer Police Station registered two cases of robbery and one case of fake cheque, Bara Kahu Police Station registered one case each of robbery and kidnapping and Banigalla, Sihala, Shalimar, Koral and Shehzad Town police stations registered one case each of robbery.
