The youth across Punjab have lauded the caretaker provincial government for giving green signal to lift ban on "Basant" which was interdicted by Shahbaz Sharif-led former government. It should be mentioned that the interim Punjab government is mulling over granting permission to celebrate 'Basant' festival in the province later this month.
Youth was of the view that ban on any festival is not of no use but it needed steps to deal with its negative aspects and violation of laws. However, the Punjab government would have to take concrete steps to avoid any loss of life during the festivities in accordance with the Supreme Court's orders.
