The online Complaint Registration Cell against mal-administration of provincial govt agencies has started working in the Punjab Ombudsman's Office at 2 Lake Road, Lahore. Official sources told Business Recorder that on assuming office of Ombudsman Punjab last month, Javed Mahmood had issued directions to establish a complaint registration cell in his office on the lines of Chief Secretary Complaint Cell.
The Ombudsman's IT team immediately took the task and made the cell functional/online within short period of 15 days. They said Ombudsman Javed Mahmood would conduct Open Katcheri in his office every day from 9am to 11am, in which he will receive complaints directly from the aggrieved persons against the mal-administration of provincial govt agencies.
After inquiring the facts from the complainants, the Ombudsman would issue orders on the spot. After that the complaint would be uploaded on online system and sent to the concerned agency/department through online system. Agency/department would be bound to furnish report on the complaint. They said the complaint's processing time would be reduced by 50 percent with the usage of Ombudsman Punjab Complaint Cell. It is going to be a handy tool to collect the record of any department's performance and will be helpful to evaluate their performance.
