KARACHI: Director Ghotki Feeder canal area water board Wednesday notified for all the growers along Ghotki feeder that the Land Utilisation department has imposed a complete ban on raising rice cultivation within the commanded cultivable area along Ghotki feeder during the current year.
A meeting in this connection was chaired by Commissioner Sukkur Dr Muhammad Usman Chachar and attended by Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of Ghotki and Sukkur districts and concerned officials.
During the meeting, the Commissioner directed the concerned officers to take necessary steps including creating awareness amongst Khatedars of the districts of Ghotki and Sukkur through pamphlets, banners and media resources, a notification added.
The pamphlets have been published and distributed amongst Khatedars informing about the imposition of ban on rice cultivation, he added.
