Major economies: Japan has lowest policy rate

Among major economies lowest policy rate is prevailing in Japan which stands at 0.10 percent. According to State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Sri Lanka has the highest policy rate of 9.5 percent since December 23, 2012. India''s policy rate is even less than Pakistan. Reserves Bank of India has recently reduced its policy rate by 0.25 percent as on March 19, 2013 and now it has decreased to 7.5 percent.
UK''s policy rate stands at 0.50 percent, Eurozone 0.75 percent, US 0.25 percent Canada 1 percent, Australia 3 percent, China 6 percent, Malaysia 3 percent, Indonesia 5.75 percent and Thailand 2.75 percent.
