The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) on Saturday defused a bomb outside the hujra of former JUI-F's provincial minister and running candidate Fazl Ali Haqqani in Swabi. According to police, unknown miscreants had planted explosive material in a pressure cooker outside the hujra of Fazl Ali Haqqani.
A passer-by informed police about presence of the suspected object upon which squad of bomb disposal was dispatched to the site. The Squad succeeded in defusing the bomb. An official of the BDS said that around five kilogram explosives were concealed in the presser cooker that could have caused large-scale destruction upon explosion. Meanwhile, unknown miscreants opened fire at a police mobile van in Katlang area of Mardan.
