Bollywood awards ‘Pakistan Icon’ to Mehwish Hayat

Pakistani actors Fawad Khan and Mehwish Hayat are without any doubts popular on both sides of the border, as the two were given awards at the launch of Filmfare Middle East Magazine in Dubai last night.

Once again Bollywood and Lollywood actors come under one roof in the hub of international events Dubai to launch India’s most coveted magazine. From Pakistan, the 'Punjab Nahi Jaungi' actress Mehwish Hayat along with country’s heartthrob Fawad Khan graced the event.

Even though Pakistani actors are banned from working in Bollywood, Hayat and Fawad managed to get rewarded during the event for their contribution. The actress bagged Pakistan Icon while Khan got honored with Cinematic Icon from Pakistan/India.

Fawad is the first Pakistani to receive a Filmfare award for his Bollywood debut in ‘Khoobsurat’. Other than these two, Pakistani model Hasnain Lehri was also present at the ceremony.

On the work front, Hayat’s upcoming ‘Load Wedding’ is all set to release on Eid ul Azha.
