Pakistan's two top title contenders World Champion Muhammad Asif and former Asian number two Mohammad Sajjad notched-up their second in Jubilee Insurance 29th Asian Snooker Championship on Sunday. Top seed IBSF Champion Asif was at his brilliant best when he hammered Mohsen Bukhshaisha of Qatar in four straight frames without any trouble that included a break of 56 in third frame.
Sajjad from Sargodha, who seemed determined to make his mark in this event after in 2010, Asian championship final in his second round match thrashed an unfancied Han Sang Hee from South Korea 4-0.
However Abu Saim, who lost an exciting opening round tie on Saturday, bounced back in the match when conjured up 4-2 triumph over Yuttapop Pakpoj of Thailand.
After having won the opening two frames, Saim was under pressure when lost the next frames against Pakpoj as his opponent par terms 2-all. However Saim with brilliant potting wrapped-up the next two frames to registered 4-2 win.
Former Pakistani Saleh Muhammad, who is now representing Afghanistan, defeated his former team-mate Imran Shahzad 4-1 to collect his second win with a break of 71 in final frame.
After his second defeat, Imran Shahzad is facing tough challenge to progress in the last 16 round.
