The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has said that 69,875 polling stations would be set up across the country for the general elections and printing of 150 million ballot papers have been completed. Secretary ECP Ishtiaq Ahmed Khan told media persons here on Sunday that printing of remaining ballot papers was underway and would be completed by May 7, 2013.
The secretary added effort had been made that polling station in each constituency should be within the range of two kilometers. The ECP has received about 313 complaints and after consideration decided to forward these to concerned district returning officers for taking action. He said that complainants have also been directed to contact their district returning officers and all the complaints have been uploaded on ECP's website. He said the returning officers have also been directed to address these complaints.
About the transportation of ballot papers, he said that printing and transportation of ballot papers for Balochistan have completed. He said that the printing of ballot papers for four divisions of Punjab was completed and remaining four divisions would be completed before May 7, 2013.
Secretary ECP said that printing of ballot papers for Sindh Province was yet to be completed whereas for most of the division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa except Mardan has been done. Ishtiaq said that entire process would be completed before May 7, 2013.
